Hi there! My name is Justin Knepper, and yes—I’m a recovering banker. It’s a real thing. For over 25 years, I climbed the rungs of the banking world while collecting (probably too many) academic degrees, all with sights set on that corner office in a shiny skyscraper. But somewhere along the way, I realized my heart and mind weren’t in spreadsheets; they’d already drifted off into the clouds of adventure, imagination, and possibility.

So, in the chaos of the COVID pandemic (May 2020, to be exact), my partner and I did what any entirely reasonable, somewhat eccentric gay couple would do: we packed our bags and moved to Portugal! Okay, it wasn’t quite an overnight whim—but it was a deliberate leap toward our dreams of travel, discovery, and finding our passions. For
me, that meant finally devoting myself to writing (and designing websites). For my partner, it’s all about curating our next adventure, nurturing his jungle of terrace plants, and hunting down the next cuisine to explore.

Now, I’m here—typing furiously, fingertips nearly raw—as I chase down my dream of launching an official fiction writing career. I’ve spent years writing blogs, but now I’m ready to let my wildly wacky imagination run free in the world of fiction.

If it’s paranormal, I’m obsessed: witches, vampires, werewolves, ghosts—they all have a home in my heart. And when it comes to fantasy fiction, I gleefully turn the dial all the way up to eleven. My stories thrive on boundless imagination but always feature a generous dose of LGBTQ+ magic woven through their characters and worlds—for a reflection of the diverse, vibrant reality we strive to embrace, even as we sometimes fumble toward it.

My greatest hope is that my stories bring you everything from hope, smiles, and laughter to a few tears—because life’s best tales always do.
