When you sign up to receive my newsletter or updates via the subscription form on this website (powered by MailerLite), I collect:

Your email address
I do not collect your surname, postal address, phone number, payment information, or any other personal data through this website.
Why I Collect It and the Legal Basis
I use your first name and email address solely to send you my newsletter, which may include updates about my books, new releases, exclusive content, and occasional promotional offers.
The legal basis for processing your data is your freely given consent — you opt in by completing the signup form. You may withdraw that consent at any time (see Your Rights below).
How Your Data Is Processed — MailerLite
I use MailerLite to manage my subscriber list and send emails. When you sign up, your first name and email address are stored on MailerLite’s servers. MailerLite acts as a data processor on my behalf under a Data Processing Agreement.
MailerLite may collect additional technical data automatically, such as email open rates, link clicks, and IP addresses, as part of its platform functionality. For full details, please review MailerLite’s Privacy Policy.
MailerLite is headquartered in the United States and processes data under appropriate international transfer safeguards.
How Long I Keep Your Data
I will keep your personal information for as long as you remain subscribed to my newsletter. If you unsubscribe, your data will be removed from my active list. You may also request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).
Who I Share Your Data With
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only third party that has access to your data is MailerLite, solely for the purpose of delivering my newsletter to you.
International Transfers
I am based in Portugal (European Union). If you are signing up from outside the EU — including from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere — your data will be transferred to and stored in systems that may be located outside your country. Such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards in compliance with applicable data protection law.

UK residents: These rights apply under the UK GDPR. You may also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Canadian residents: I comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). I will only send you commercial electronic messages based on your express consent, and every message includes a working, one-click unsubscribe link.
US residents: I comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Every email I send identifies me clearly, contains no deceptive subject lines, and includes a clear unsubscribe option.
How to Unsubscribe or Exercise Your Rights
The easiest way to unsubscribe is to click the unsubscribe link included at the bottom of every email I send.
